If you have been looking for a good belt sander to get the job done, then you have come to the right place. We will be covering several belt sanders, and how they play a role in specific applications.

The first is the DEWALT DW432 8 Amp 3-Inch by 21-Inch Belt Sander with Dust Canister. Overall users said this was a very powerful sander. It can be used for large jobs, and handles quite well. The only downside we noticed is that the dust canister does not seem to clip too well, and felt very weak. Over a period of time this might be prone to breaking. The upside of this Dewalt sander is that the sanding belt tracked perfectly when in use, and the spring loaded lever which is used to change belts works great and allows for quick adjustment.

The next sander that was put under scrutiny was the DeWalt DW433 Heavy Duty 3″ x 21″ VS Belt Sander. This one didn’t do too well and quite a few unfavorable reviews were written about it. The first problem which has been noticed is how badly the dust catch bag stays on. It tends to come off quite easily with even minor use such as on cabinets and other indoor small wood surfaces. Th replacement of belts on this sander is an ongoing issue as well. Theses belts would break quite a bit requiring another trip to Lowes or Home Depot to pick a replacement up. Overall this unit was not a recommendation by us or other users. It is meant really for only small projects after using in our opinion.

The next thing we have up for review is a DeWalt DW433KR 3″ x 21″ Variable Speed Belt Sander Kit. This in our opinion is worth every penny whether new or used. You can buy one of these kits for about $100-$150 online and just about everyone that has used this has given it a favorable review. This sander is heavy, so its probably best used with horizontal sanding unless you put in a lot of muscle. However it does an excellent job, and is heavy duty. It sands quite fast and some users of this sander have said that you will have to pay extra attention to how quickly surface material diminishes. The belt track on this sander has had a few problems, but overall this was perfect for any medium to heavy job.

There are other sanders that we could have covered, but after reviewing these, they seemed to cover most applications and jobs.
