Video Game Room Ideas
Ever since we were little kids, we would go to the arcade and imagine if our rooms were half as cool as the arcades. Today, console and PC games have made it possible for really cool video game rooms to come alive. Some people dedicate an entire room just to gaming, others make the game room their own bedroom. Whichever the reason people have always wanted to know about how to decorate their new video game room.
The first step for creating a video game room is to think of a theme. Do you want your room to be centered around one game, or just gaming in general. List out your favorite video games, this will give you some great video game room ideas. Here is just a video game room idea that I just came up with. Paint the room a nice deep red color over a black base. Apply white molding, and put up posters of video games that you can buy on the Internet. Make sure you have that LCD display wall mounted and hooked up with a PS3, X-Box 360, and Wii. Have a nice black or white leather sofa, that is comfortable enough to sit in for hours. My idea was just a quick sketch in my head, I still have to think about lighting and such. When I thought up this game room idea, I thought of many arcades and noticed that most arcades have a dark tone to them. So, I stuck with a dark color. The other stuff was just icing that you yourself can add according to your budget.
Add your own style to the room. Do not just make the video game room generic and simple add some your style to the room as well. Do you enjoy movies? Put up some movie posters. Enjoy Comics, computer parts, cars, anything? Add that to your video game room.
Have a brain storm session. Brainstorming ideas about your room will get you mind in the right place. Start by writing down the uses of the room besides gaming. Will the room be used for watching television, movies, chilling with friends, watching sports? Will I sleep in the room? Will I study in the room? Keep asking yourself these questions and your list will quickly add up and you can then envision how your room will look.
Ask others for advice.
Ask your family and friends and see what they would consider to be a great video game room. Take some some their ideas (if the idea is good), or alter their ideas. They will love it that you incorporated something of them in your video game room.
In the end all I can say is to be creative, and leave no stone unturned test and try out everything in your brain before actually getting down to work. The perfect video game room idea is not found on the Internet but rather it is your own creation, and built with time not in one fell swoop. Remember be creative!
